NBR started out all the way back in 2008 with a handful of like minded women making their vision of a roller derby league on Brisbane’s Northside a reality.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, completely run by volunteers and governed by a small team of Directors and Coaches. Having been established as a registered cooperative in 2008 and converting to an incorporated association in 2018.
We are based at Brendale in the Moreton Bay Regional Council, but train and play all over Queensland and Australia.
NBR prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming league. While we are a member of the international Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) competitively, we welcome skaters and non-skating officials of all genders to our League.
NBR skaters are highly skilled representative level skaters and have not only competed on travel teams around Australia, but have represented both Queensland, and internationally for Team Australia.
We always have an open door for anyone wanting to begin their skating career, learn the rules, and become a much valued member of the ref team, or help out as a non-skating official.
